Shahla Aly currently works as the General Manager for Cross Company Strategy and Initiatives for Microsoft, the world’s leading software company. In this role, she is responsible for the alignment of key initiatives and strategies for Microsoft, including strategies for emerging markets.
Prior to taking on this role, Ms. Aly was the General Manager of Strategy and Enablement for Microsoft Services, Microsoft’s consulting, technical support and customer service arm, where she had responsibility for all aspects of corporate strategic planning, professional development, and communications for Microsoft Services. This included overseeing the design, readiness and deployment of global services support and consulting offerings, as well as professions and readiness, service line management, marketing, intellectual capital management, global learning services, and the services global partners program.
Prior to joining Microsoft in December 2002, Ms. Aly worked 18 years at International Business Machines (IBM) in Canada and the United States. At IBM, she held a number of executive positions, including vice president of the Communications Sector for IBM Canada (Telco, Energy and Media industries), and vice president of e-Business Services Worldwide for IBM Global Services in New York. Ms. Aly received a Bachelor of Science and a MBA from the University of Karachi in Pakistan. She lives outside of Seattle with her husband and two children.
